Leveraging Urban Mobility Disruptions to Create Better Cities is an upcoming massive open online course that launched in early 2020 through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) EDx platform. The course has run three times, with the most recent iteration conclusion in early 2022. 6,080 participants from across the globe have taken the course. Future iterations of the course are in the works.
Spanning 11 weeks, this 10-module course is oriented towards policymakers and practitioners looking to understand:
How the emerging new mobility paradigm can be effectively leveraged for the public good
What to do in the wake of emerging mobility technologies from a multidisciplinary angle
How to follow and act upon guidance offered by the Shared Mobility Principles for Livable Cities
The course is led by professors who teach transportation planning in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the United States; practitioners who have worked directly in the field for several decades; and the world’s preeminent mobility social entrepreneurs.
