It has been said that infrastructure is destiny. How we build and organize our cities profoundly affects those living, working and moving in them. A city may inherit its infrastructure, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make deliberate changes to the built environment to improve climate resilience, equity, affordability, safety and civic engagement.

We are at a critical inflection point for infrastructure, with many cities and countries around the world seeking to change not just the purpose of the infrastructure they build, but also how it is planned and implemented — and for whom.

NUMO is supporting communities and cities as they work together to embrace a new age of infrastructure, one that recognizes that we need to change our approach to infrastructure for better, more equitable and sustainable outcomes.
